Since the early 1950’s Coonawarra has featured prominently as one of Australia’s greatest wine regions, producing Cabernet Sauvignon in particular to rival the great French houses of Bordeaux. Coonawarra Discovery has slowly crafted its wine touring business from the experience of 17 years touring and supporting tens of thousands of satisfied visitors. We can provide a tailored experience that caters to the individuality and tastes of the customer or we can deliver our “Best of Coonawarra” hand-crafted tours. We target your complete satisfaction.
It is up to you whether we visit any of the 27 wineries along the Coonawarra strip or just our favourites. Our guides have an extensive knowledge of the region, its history, viticultural practices, winemaking procedures and can get you unique access to wine industry personnel and areas normally off-limits to the public. It’s a great way to experience one of the premium wine regions of the world and if life is too short for cheap wine, it’s also too short to miss out on being chauffeured around with the top industry experts at your beck and call. We have half day, full day and multi day options available, and can accept from 1 to 60 persons per tour.

We then enjoy lunch at the Divine Café after which we travel up the famous terra rossa strip on the Riddoch Highway and pop into the old Penola Cemetary, where your guide will entertain you with stories of the person laid to rest there. After this we try some traditional wines at Bowens and Redmans – the families that finally created Riddoch’s dream – finishing with a cheese platter and more wines at the magnificent Rymill cellar door.
